Sezigen is a dynamic and well established company with qualified and professional engineers and project managers with extensive knowledge and experience in the built environment with the capacity to execute any turnkey projects.
Below are the areas which we have extensive experience and have executed successful projects:
A. Engineering Services (In The Built Environment)
1. Johannesburg Forensic Pathological Laboratory
Sezigen is responsible for the structural works design and construction supervision of a new pathological lab with autopsy and mortuary facility for Gauteng DID
2. Daveyton Hospital, Gauteng
Sezigen is responsible for the structural works on this R1.2bn Gauteng Department of Health project. When complete the hospital will serve Daveyton and the surrounding areas of Etwatwa and Benoni.
3. Zava Package Plant Refurbishment and Upgrade of Raw Water Pipeline in Limpopo
The project entailed design and construction supervision of refurbishment and upgrades of the raw water pipeline in Zava Village in Giyani in the Greater Mopani District Municipality in the Limpopo Province. Our team did condition assessment of existing infrastructure, developed solutions to remedy intermittent water supplies as well as design solutions to upgrade the package plant and ensured that reticulation covered the whole village. The team also managed all procurement and the construction of the project.
4. NHBRC Forensic Structural Assessments and Rectification
Sezigen has been involved in projects for the assessment of structural defects in top structures and services infrastructure as part of
NHBRC forensic investigations and rectification programme. The programme covered Kwazulu Natal and Eastern Cape Provinces.
5. Eric Molobi Innovation Hub, Soshanguve
Mr Rudzani Mamphaga, a director at Sezigen, was a project manager for this project developed by the National Home Builders Registration Council (NHBRC). The project entailed development of services and buildings on site and was a Greenfield development. Engineering designs for both services infrastructure and top structures were developed, tender documents prepared and construction supervision performed.
6. Design and Construction of Municipal Services
Almost 75% of all our personnel are experienced in the design and construction supervision of all types of municipal infrastructure. The types of infrastructure include but not limited to:
- Sanitation: Sewer Treatment
- Plants, wet and dry sanitation
- Road Construction
- Water Supply
- Municipal Buildings
- Project Management
- Residential Buildings using natural,hi-technology and appropriate technology
B. Institutional Capacity Building And Advisory Services (In The Built Environment)
1. Housing Development Agency (HDA)
Sezigen is responsible for Capacitating, Establishing, and Operationalising a Project Management Office (PMO) for Housing Development Agency (HDA) nationally.
2. Gauteng Department of Human Settlements
Sezigen is responsible for Technical Advisory, Capacitation of Gauteng Department of Human Settlements and to improve their Project Management System in Gauteng.
C. Programme and Project Management (In The Built Environment)
1. National Intervention in the Eastern Cape
- Our intervention helped the department to raise expenditure from R500m to R1.3bn a year.
- Most of Sezigen experts were part of the team responsible for undertaking implementation of the intervention (Section 100 1(b) of the Constitution).
- Our experts were leading the team spread across the province and coordinating their interaction with all stakeholders.
2. National Department of Human Settlement
Support Programme to fast track delivery in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality
3. National Department of Human Settlement
Sezigen worked with NDHS in its Support Programme to Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality delivery on USDG programmes.
D. Implementation Agents (In The Built Environment)
1. Willem Pretorius Resort, Free State
Sezigen was responsible for the implementation of the project as an Implementing Agent under the National Department of Environmental Affairs. The project was part of the department’s Social Responsibility Programme (SRP) and entailed rehabilitation of roads, upgrading of water supply infrastructure and renovation of dwellings in the resort.
